Place de la Victoire, Tunis
Place de la Victoire is the entrance to the Medina, half traditional, half colonial. The large building covered in black plastic is currently being renovated, and used to be the British Embassy until 2004. The road leading behind it is one of the most crowded in the whole city, a narrow souq which leads through the heart of the Medina. The free-standing arch is called the Bab el Bhar (Porte de France)
