This is the 'Plaza Major' of Santoña, a little town between Santander and Bilbao on northern Spain's Cantabrian coast, Local industry here is based on the processing of fishery products, especially anchovies, and Santoña is claimed to be the first place where anchovies were preserved in olive oil.
During February very year, thousands of visitors come to the Carnival in Santoña to enjoy the music, high spirits and fantastic atmosphere.
