This is the new Jurassic Pier at West Bay harbour in Dorset, part of a sea defence scheme costing £17m, and opened by the Duke of York in March 2005. The ship is the historic passenger steamer Balmoral, built in Southampton in 1949 and now fully restored, it carries up to 750 passengers all around the UK.
The ITV drama 'Broadchurch' first shown in March 2013, featured much of the local area including this pier.
