   From this jetty a variety of local excursions travel up the River Dart towards the town of Totnes, or downstream to Dartmouth Castle. There are also regular ferries across the river to Kingswear from where you can take a vintage steam train along the Dart Valley to the seaside town of Paington. The ferry comprises a tug with a vehicle-carrying float towed alongside and guided by a wire cable.
