A favourite spot in Exeter to sit and enjoy a drink while watching the world go by.
The black and white building with the purple shutters is the once famous ‘Mol’s Coffee House’ with a crest dated 1596. The large white building to the left is the Royal Clarence Hotel
, built in 1770 on the site of Sir Walter Raleigh’s family town house, and is said to be the first hostelry in England to be known as a hotel. Sadly the hotel was completely destroyed by a massive fire on 28th October 2016.
