Weymouth Harbour

This 17th Century Waterfront has some of Dorset's finest pubs and restaurants, and is one of Weymouth's great attractions. It is still a bustling working harbour where sea fish of all kinds are landed daily. The harbour is steeped in history, with links to the Black Death, Spanish Armada, the Civil War and the D-Day landings. The new National Sailing Academy just along the coast towards Portland is hosted the sailing events at the 2012 Olympics
A short boat ferry will take you across the river to Weymouth town. There is also a road bridge, which is regularly lifted to allow the passage of tall-masted boats into the inner harbour.
