This is a view looking along the most famous street in Dubrovnic the Placa, from one end by the entrance to the harbour, to the far end by the main entrance known as Pile. This street was formed after the shallow sea that separated the settled island from the mainland was filled in between the 10th and 11th centuries
The high dome is the Cathedral, and the church on the corner with the steps is St. Blaise Church. The bell tower at the far end is the Franciscan Monastery, the building behind the columns is the Sponza Palace and the dark arched exit just to the right, leads out into the old harbour.
