From the end of the famous Cobb you can see the new beach being constructed between the back of Victoria Pier and the Cobb. This was finished in 2006 with the intention of providing pontoons and extra moorings for visiting boats. The Beacon Rocks at the end of the Cobb were also extended and re-aligned in 2005 with rocks weighing up to 18 tonnes each especially imported from Norway.
